she is one

wow, has it been a month already. well technically i am blogging after midnight so she is one month and one day old already.

we are very blessed to have olivia in our lives. she is such a good baby - so good that i told my DH that she almost makes me consider having another one. almost.

i do plan on doing at least 1 layout a month for her so i want to capture here things that she has done this month:

• she has slept through the night since the night she was born (i am not kidding you) - people ask me why i look well rested, that is easy when your baby girl sleeps 4- 6 hours a night!
• olivia has gained 2 lbs since she was born already. she is a great substitute for a 10 lb barbell when i feel like doing some arm work.
• she can hold her head up and look around already for short periods of time.
• olivia is used to her big bro noah running around and yelling so it doesn't phase her one bit.
• she is a snuggler and will let anyone that wants to hold her all they want.
• she is very observant and alert when she is not sleeping
• olivia has started to out grow her NB clothing and moved up to 1 diaper already!

now along with all the great things about olivia, i can't forget about my baby boy noah - who doesn't look like or feel like a baby any more.

noah is one of the kindest most generous souls i have ever met. in this month since his sister has been born, we have discovered this about him:

• he adores his baby sister and is always giving her hugs and telling her he loves her.
• he takes his job as supervisor of poop patrol very seriously. he will go up to her if she is crying and take a quick sniff and run to me to change her if she is stinky. he will get the diapers and wipes for me too.
• he has learned to write his letters from A-Z
• he can now count to 40 in chinese, 20 in spanish and 20 in english
• noah adores singing songs especially spanish ones - he seems to have picked up 3-4 new ones this month!

we have been blessed with a wonderful family and the adjustment to 4 rather than 3 of us has been easy. we look forward to many many years of happiness, love and laugther.

new consumer newsletter goes out today!

we have a new consumer newsletter going out today full of fun ideas! and i have been busy with miss olivia and mr noah. last night noah and i went out for a mama / baby boy meal just him and me so we could spend some extra time together and he could tell me about his day and not have baby sister around. i think he rather enjoyed it!

i am also finishing up an album for olivia. you can see the cover here with her!

saturdays

it has been a busy weekend for us - we are starting to get back to normal as we had a set stream of grandmas and grandpas visiting since olivia has been born.

noah played some soccer today

he did pretty good for his first time - i asked him after the game why he didn't chase after the ball and be aggressive and he replied " i can't be a-bessive" LOL. i am not worried though - it took me 2.5 decades to be aggressive.

and miss o is getting so big!

Things have been busy here at home and with work.  Noah has been such a great helper with Olivia that we couldn't ask for more! He totally adores his baby sister (90% of the time); and we love her a lot too!

hello

miss olivia wanted to say hello. i have to say she is a super mellow baby - eats, sleeps and poops.  everyone tells us how big she looks - it is the head of hair she was born with!

noah loves his baby sister:

he asks to see her every morning and every day after school. i can tell he does have a bit of adjustment with her as he is used to our undivided attention so we are trying to give him a lot more TLC but also trying to help him understand that he needs to have an indoor voice when we ask him to the first time.

i have an album planned in my head already for these photos! just need to get to it!

hello world

well my family is so happy to announce the arrival of miss olivia into our lives. she did sneak in during labor day (in the evening) to this world and we adore her.

yes that is a full head of hair (which might explain all the tums i had during my pregnancy). and she is super mellow and sweet. she is already eating well - feeds for an hour and then will sleep for 3 hours which makes for happy momma, dada and big bro.

here is noah meeting her for the first time:

the delivery went smoothly - i was in my 4 pm and she was out before the night was done.

i am off to enjoy some time with her and my family!

just waiting

we are still waiting for baby girl. sometimes she will surprise me with a lot of contractions but none of them are the right timing or consistent so we are still waiting.

my sweet baby boy noah (who is no longer a baby he informs me) started soccer practice this week! and he seems to love it a lot! he knows how to dribble the ball and check out how sweet he looks:

These photos have the makings of an awesome album. I think I am going to make a t-shirt one with all of noah's soccer photos and might even get started today!

little pin soliders

so when i was checking out our inventory the other day at the w/h i was marveling at how 500 of our vintage black pearl pins would look all packaged in bulk so of course i took a photo:

pretty cool huh?

so we are still waiting for baby g to arrive. in the meantime, a bottle of tums has been keeping me company most meals.

i finished up an album for baby girl a couple of nights ago. i used one of our long binders with envelopes so we could put notes in there for her:

we haven't narrowed down her name yet so i am going to add that later. i am sure she will be called baby for a while.

on the inside, i decorated the chipboard pages and left room on the back of each one for photos of her - for this one from noah - "moi" will be a term he uses for little sister in chinese.

the envelope will be for notes on things noah thinks about his baby sister - like "she smells cold" when he puts his nose to my tummy or when fedex dropped by the other day and rang the door bell he ran to the door and said "is that baby sister?". just the little things!

hey what's cookin'?

still no baby girl yet. the walking is getting harder but we are anxiously awaiting her arrival. in our time of waiting for her, i have been busy with some projects and with noah.

lots of cooking here at our house- i think that is a form of nesting for me. in the last week i have made chinese dumplings, chili enchiladas and a lot more. even my DH said "i didn't know you could cook like this!" (shhhh i kept it a secret for 10 years - wink wink). i have plans to make some cinnamon rolls, sorbet from scratch and even some chicken tortilla soup in the next couple of days.

noah and i worked on a little fleece blanket for his baby sister to use in the car. he helped with gluing the heart and tying the edges:

i am not sure where my son learned that cheesy fake smile but he is all about that nowadays!

i am working on finishing up an album for baby girl that is full of notes from the 3 of us to her. will share that after i complete it this week!
